This program is a hack created for MacHack '98 by Eric Long, of Aladdin Systems (known for StuffIt Deluxe, StuffIt InstallerMaker, Aladdin FlashBack, etc..)
There are moments when life brings its little frustrations, and often it helps to release the tension a bit. This hack allows you to express your feelings in a satisfying way, without yelling or making a scene.
Spell It - Don't Yell It lets you enter a small text message, which it then proceeds to spell out on your desktop, using available icons. It spells what it can when there aren't enough icons available to draw with. It never places icons out of reach of the visible desktop area.
Now, if you are not the type to vent your feelings publicly, I'm sure there are plenty of other uses for this hack as well.
It recognizes the characters A-Z (or a-z) , '!' , '?' , '#', '*', '$' and spaces.
Commands:
Display Message: Select this from the File menu to enter your message and have it displayed.
Examples:
DOOH!
#$*!*#!
Stack: Select this from the File menu to have all icons on the desktop stacked neatly in the upper lefthand corner of the screen, just below the menubar.
The items in the "Place Contents on Desktop" folder may be placed onto the desktop to use, if you don't have enough icons to draw with.

This program is freeware. No source is available (sorry).
Anyone may distribute this program, so long as it they do not charge for it.
